CRCA welcomes new president

CRCA welcomes Colin Rasmussen as the association’s new president for the 2013/2014 term.

ColinR-ArticleRasmussen started working in the roofing industry in the early 1990s, following seven years in the pulp and paper industry as a power engineer. In 1994, he joined his father-in-law Patrick Desmond full-time at Western Roofing as estimator/project manager. From 1997 to 2007, he worked as operations manager before purchasing the company in 2008.

Today, Rasmussen serves as the first vice president of the Roofing Contractors Association of British Columbia, and also sits on the organization’s Education and Training Committee. He was first elected as a CRCA director in 2010.

Outside the office, Rasmussen has served as a director on the Diocese of Kamloops Catholic School Board and on the Kamloops Minor Hockey Board. He and his wife, Tanis, reside in Kamloops, B.C. and have four children, one of whom is active in the day-to-day operations of Western Roofing.
